Wasn't planning on joining

i was just looking up info on what to do if your cat eats string.found a partial answer but joined nevertheless. This is a great site with loads of info.Anyways my kitty name is Loki he is 2 years old.Actually he's my daughters and she calls him her brother.Let me teel you they fight like real siblings. It's very cute.If you have any advice I'd love to hear anything you got to say.

Angel, string can be very dangerous for cats to ingest.  String can get stuck anywhere from under the tongue, down the esophagos (food pipe), in the stomach or in the intestinal tract somewhere.  It can become tangled in the tissue and cause a blockage which is an emergency situation for the cat.  Sometimes you may see it coming out of the rectum.  It is best not to try to remove the string yourself, it may cause more damage.

If you are certain the cat has swallowed some string, then I would recommend a vet visit as soon as possible.  Keep an eye out for any vomiting, diarrhea, refusing food and water and crying in pain.  Good luck and I hope your kitty is ok!
