Sneezing
Our black Lab Hailey is 5 years old. 2 days ago she started sneezing and having a clear runny discharge from her nose. She only sneezes profusely and many times when she gets up from a resting position. She feels a bit warmer than usual. Kind of mopey; doesn't greet us at the door, but is happy to see us and wags her tail. Still eats normally and likes her get her normal treats. She is alert and is still vigilant about her surroundings. No eye discharge other than normal. Potty habits normal. Have started her on benedryll, which has been previously prescribed as over the counter by her vet for a itching and hot spot problem she had over a year ago. What are we missing or does she have a cold or flu. She is not around other dogs and has not been boarded. We were at the beach a couple of weeks ago for a vacation and she does swim in our pool regularly with the kids. Any help would be appreciated Thank you. Ken

Kcrut, it is possible that Hailey has picked up a virus of some sort. The fact that she seems to be warm and is a bit mopey is something to keep an eye on. You can either give it a few days as long as she is eating and drinking and otherwise acting ok and see if she perks up or give the vet a call and see what they recommend at this point. The Benadryl may make her a bit sleepy so it will be harder to judge attitiude while she is taking it.
Another remote possibilty is a foreign body ( ie; a piece of grass) could be lodged in her nasal passage. Sometimes those things work thier way out and sometimes they need to be removed. If there is no improvement in the next couple of days, again give the vet a call. Good luck!
