Okay to treat by myself?

I noticed my Boxer was licking his paw this afternoon. He has a bug bite or small cut of some sort (a couple of them, actually) on his paw. I was worried that his licking might cause an infection, so I cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide, put Neosporin on it and an Ace bandage -- to keep him from licking it. Seems like a pretty easy fix, but was wondering if anyone would agree or handle it differently (a.k.a. take him to the vet).

Thoughts???

It sounds like you have done a great job!  The only thing you need to watch closely is the bandage.  If your dog licks the bandage and it gets wet than it could do more harm than good.  If you can let the air get to it while you can supervise, that would be best.  If your dog goes off his food, seems to be running a temp or starts limping, than make a vet appointment otherwise, keep up the good work!
