Kitten breathing problems
Written by MaryDS
I have a kitten who has been injured by a dog. The dog was carrying the kitten around in his mouth.
There are no puncture wounds, but when the kitten breathes it sounds like plastic on her right side.
What is the cause of this?

Mary, what your describing, a crackling noise may be air under the skin or fluid in the lung. There could be a puncture wound you are unable to see. I would urge you to have the kitten looked at by the vet as soon as possible. They may want to take an x-ray to check for internal damage.
