Human antibiotics that can be used for cat urinary track infection

I am not near a vet and my cat has frequent urination due to infection, is there any human antibiotics that work on cats? thx

Msmary, there are some antibiotics that people and animals can take that are the same, except of course for the dose. The problem is that the human anitbiotic may not be the appropropriate one for a urinary infection in a cat, would be very hard to get the accurate dose from the human form and the cat may not be able to tolerate it.
The only thing I could recommend until you can get to the vet is if you are near a health food store, they may carry a natural remedy for urinary tract problems for pets. Also make sure your cat has very clean, fresh water available at all times and try to encourage the cat to drink as often as possible.
If this is a recurring problem, ask your vet if the cat would benefit from a different diet. Good luck and I hope your cat feels better soon.
