How does the vet get my dog so clean?

I have a Boxer and feel like it's hard to get his short, tight coat really clean. I bought a rubber scrubber, which is really helpful on his torso, but never really feel like his paws and legs get clean unless it's done professionally. Is there some method they use that I am missing?

I don't really know what the pros do differently, other than maybe a different shampoo and possibly a cream rinse.  I think when the dog sits with the shampoo on for 10 minutes and soaks, it helps to get the fur cleaner.  Maybe you could ask the groomer for a recommendation on shampoo brands.

Any groomers out there have any advice for this situation?
