frequent peeing or attempts to pee

Hi My 6 year old female dog peed or attempted to pee

every 10 yards or so today during our last walk.  This

is very unusual for her and not at all like  "marking" behavior.

She doesn't seem to be in pain or uncomfortable nor has she

asked to go out again since we returned home.

Any ideas what might be causing this and if I should

see a vet?

Sometimes dogs will smell something that triggers repeat urination like as if they were marking their territory, even females will do this.  You could watch your dog for signs of a urinary tract infection which are frequent peeing, blood in urine, possibly an odor from the urine, and an increase in drinking.   If you notice any of these symptoms then I would give your vet a call for an appointment.

Dogs can develop bladder stones that would have similar symptoms as the UTI.  In this case the bladder actually has crystals or stones in it leaving less room for urine causing the dog to have to pee more.  Again, this condition requires medical attention.  I hope this helps, if you need more information, let us know and good luck!
