Downed Pasterns

I have a 4 month old German Shepherd, he has downed pasterns. What is the best treatment for this?  Thanks in advance!

Hugges, I have little experience with this medical condition myself so I did a bit of poking around.  It seems Carpal Subluxation Syndrome as it is medically known is one of those issues many folks are divided on.  Some believe it to be a genetic disorder and others a nutritional imbalance.

It may be helpful to do some research via internet, dog owners who have been through this, breeders and veterinarians who have seen and treated this condition.  Take the information and course of treatment that you feel is best suited for you and your dog.

Here are a couple of pages to start your homework with and I am sure there are more out there.  Good luck and we would love to hear what treaments you are going to try and how it turns out.
