Dog Losing Weight

My lab mix is now 10 years old. He has always had a health appetite and still does. Lately, I have noticed that he looks a bit thinner. Is there any explanation for this? I plan to take him to the Vet to ask.

Hello, I think that older dogs who slow down their activity will have some decrease in muscle mass giving the appearence of weight loss. However, I think your trip to the vet is a great idea. You may consider a geriatirc health profile of bloodwork and urine tests to make sure all systems are healthy. Good luck!
