difficulty breathing, clear/slimy vomiting

1 yr old boxer acts likes she has the dry heaves, vomits randomly in small amounts. kinda faomy at the mouth. Any suggestions what might be going on?

my boxer would cough like he had something in his throat . I changed him to a no-corn no-by-product dry food. He does much better now. lisa

April, the frist thing I would check is to see if she has anything stuck in her mouth that could be causing the foaming and dry heaving.  It is quite common for dogs to get a bone or stick stuck across the roof of the mouth or wedged inside the bottom jaw between the teeth.  She could also have something stuck in her throat that you will not be able to see but could be causing the symptoms.  If she has injested something that either did not agree with her or is stuck in her stomach, you would see the signs you are describing.

Another remote possibility is that if she has a habit of eating bees or wasps, she may have swallowed one and got stung, causing swelling and irritation.

If these symptoms have been going on for a day or two with no improvement or they continue, I would have her looked at by the vet.  If she is not currently eating or drinking and is just laying around or gets worse in any way, you should take her to the vet soon.
