Overview
The Jack Russell Terrier was developed in the late 1800s by Reverend John Russell in England. He wanted a feisty, energetic hunting dog. The breed split in the US with the Parson Russell Terrier being recognized by the American Kennel Club and the original JRT recognized by the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America and the United Kennel Club.
