This American breed has been called the American Gentleman because of his proud bearing and tuxedo coloring.

Tuxedo pattern of black and white, brindle and white, or seal and white.

Grooming

At least once each week, the dog's coat needs to be brushed with a soft bristle brush, the teeth should be brushed, the ears cleaned, and the toenails trimmed.

15 to 17 years

Temperament

Friendly, loyal, and watchful, the Boston is a great family dog. They are patient with children.

Activity level

These dogs will enjoy a good walk and a nice playtime but are not overly active.

Training

Training should begin early as Bostons can be a little stubborn. Also, owners should learn how to stop the watchdog barking as some Bostons bark too much and the neighbors may complain. Housetraining can be a challenge.
